Santa v. Satellites

While visiting the "Norad Tracks Santa" website, I found a really interesting piece of trivia. Military statistics of space-borne objects (satellites and debris). It looks like the United States leads in space-debris, but CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States, aka former Russia) leads in actual satellites.

Interesting, but VERY slow (3.00 / 2) (#2)

The statistics at this site are pretty interesting, but it was also very, very slow to load. I don't know if its because of a poor connection or poor layout, but expect to wait several minutes to get through.

Why isn't Iridium marked as "debris"? (3.00 / 1) (#8)

Shouldn't that be the case?

Apparently it will now be used to track currents in the Earth's magnetic field.

If you don't mind the registration, you can read the article here.
