FCC grants new licenses - low power FM

The FCC is set to grant new licenses for low power FM. This comes after a recent successful lobbying effort by incumbent broadcasters to severely curtail the available frequencies to low power FM transmitters. More information available on the FCC site.

Aren't they making it a little difficult to get one? I thought I read somewhere that 800 out of the 1200 applied for were denied.

Most of the applications came from religious groups and non-profit organizations.
