Money & time to attend conferences? (4.00 / 2) (#7)
by pfaffben on Mon Jan 29, 2001 at 07:37:26 PM EST

Where do people find the money and the free time to attend conferences like this? Personally I'm a regular on comp.lang.c, so this sort of thing is of interest to me. But I'm a university student, so I can't see spending probably $1000+ and at least 4-5 days to go to it. This happens on a regular basis with conferences; I haven't been to a Linux conference yet due to issues like these.

Time / Cost (4.00 / 1) (#8)

As your a student it would only cost you 160 + VAT (188) for three days.

I work, and use my training budget to attend, so not only is it "free", but I'm only using one day (Saturday) of my own free time to attend.
