Are you sure this isn't Tracy Island? It looks like Thunderbird 1's launch pad.

Missile Silos (4.00 / 2) (#4)

You know, people use old missile silos for all sorts of great applications like secure server storage n such. I think that a nice remodelled silo with all the comforts wouldn't be too shabby a place to work. Perhaps ala UserFriendly

According to Netscape, I bookmarked this one in 1999:

20th Century Castles reconverted missile bases.

Depending on how big the site is and how much work has been done on it, these things run from cheaper than houses up to $2 million. Of course, anyone who really wants to live in an old nuke silo is going to want their own perimeter defense, and you'll probably have install that yourself.

Poll: Black Helicopters? Nope. (4.00 / 1) (#6)

I don't think an ICBM silo is at all a good place to hide from black helicopters, or any other government agents. It is very likely that the gov has the complete floor plans to the entire facility in a database somewhere, so they would know every little knok and cranny better then you do (unless, of course, you build your own hiding place and backdoors). Then again, knowing all the hiding places doesn't do them any good against a giant steel door which was designed to survive a nuclear blast :)
