2-part interview with Berke "Bloom County" Breathed

The PvP and In2It online web comic sites are each running one half of an interview with Berke Breathed, the man who created Bloom County and its short-lived successor, Outland.

It seems the creators of many of the comic strips I see today, both in print and online, pay some sort of homage to Breathed and his characters (especially Scott Kurtz, the creator of PvP; he listed his desire to interview Berke Breathed in his 30th birthday wishlist) It was nice to see what Mr. Breathed has been up to since his Outland days (writing children's books such as Goodnight, Opus and Edward Fudwupper Fibbed Big, and apparently siring a little Breathed of his own).

He talks a little about Bill Watterson, Garry Trudeau, the fact that his characters appear on a bazillion greeting cards a year yet he doesn't like Valentine's day, and why he's not considering doing a daily comic strip any more, either in print or online.

At least as of this time.

The idea of a global village is wrong, it's more like a gazillion pub bars.

The interview has moved... (none / 0) (#14)

Scott Kurtz has revamped his website, and moved the rants and interview stuff to a separate section.

The new link to the interview is at:
