Very unusual interview with Rusty.

Interviews

Rusty has had a lengthy interview with the lowest of the low - the trolls and 'crapflooders' of Geekizoid.

Have you ever wondered about his sex life, or attitude to goatsex and Foot and Mouth disease? Or, for that matter, a host of other bizarre issues? This is the place to find out.

I think it is the most original interview I have read in quite a long time, and the odd questions certainly give an insight into his character.

Makes a nice change from all the usual questions one might expect - "Why did you found Kuro5hin?", "How popular is kuro5hin?", etc etc *YAWN*

The good thing about keeping a diary is that you can remember stuff like this. The context was pretty much how Rusty explains it. I think I used it as a sig for a time, back in my "death of k5" days.

I wrote up much of what we talked about in that particular conversation in this story.

I had forgotten who had that in their sig, so I wasn't able to dig up the original source when I posted that question.

I'm glad to see the version of the quote I pulled from memory wasn't too far off from the original.

And to think I used to consider trolls a lower lifeform, wow there up to virus level in my opinion now!

uhhh. How highly do you consider viruses? :-)

You can't possibly deny that buried amongst all the masturbation humor there were a few really good questions in there, though.

All the good questions got covered up by the hot grits, and well I'm not cleaning that shit up! And personally I feel that viruses are the lowest form that can still be called life (that spot used to be held by trolls!) Don't get me wrong there were some great questions in there (and some even better answers!) but they're still just trolls...

Rusty, unless I'm mistaken, is making a reference to the great film "Dr. Strangelove"...

Ugh. Hypocrits! If I catch any of you who voted +1 FP on this ever complaining about MLP again, I'll be forced to make K5 redirect your accounts to goatse.cx randomly!

This is interesting and discussion worthy. Quite different from the discussionless "cool site of the day" crap that makes up the majority of MLP posted here.

Most of the people who complain about MLP generalize about it. It's understandable, since a much larger percentage of MLP is nasty compared to the one or two good things, but I still feel the need to point it out :)

The things that can slip through the queue while one is sleeping..yes, I know this was with our "fearless leader", but dreck is dreck. They could have also done without the gay slur by the first questioner.

Sometimes, you idiots make me sick. (3.76 / 21) (#31)
by Vladinator on Sun Mar 18, 2001 at 12:44:04 PM EST

You know, Geekizoid is MUCH more than just a site for trolls and crapflooders. We publish daily humor (MLP), we pick an asshole to make fun of periodically (Wanker of the week slashbox), we post information about computer security (hole found in PHP/Nuke!), and we welcome ANYONE who wants to post there. I really don't give a shit if you turdbags reading this don't come to my site. As was expressed in the article by Rusty himself no less, the way in which the vast majority of you talk about "the other site" indicates how far up in the air your noses really are. Get a clue! Have a coke, and a smile, and SHUT THE FUCK UP anytime now! How many of you CREATED something like Slashdot or K5? How many of you invested time and money to provide an alternative? Oh, none of you? That's What I FUCKING Thought. YHL. HAND. STFU.

Who are you flaming? (3.50 / 4) (#33)
by Carnage4Life on Sun Mar 18, 2001 at 02:49:44 PM EST

Huh? Why are you acting like a large number of K5 readers dissed Geekizoid? By the mere fact that the interview not only made it out of the queue but made it to the front page would make it seem that the K5 readers who find the site distasteful, offensive or whatever are outnumbered by those who thought it was interesting.

How many of you invested time and money to provide an alternative?

Actually quite a number of K5 readers have SCOOP based sites or other forms of weblogs. But that is neither here nor there. I'm really just wondering who's the target of your vitriol?

I didn't say that. (1.00 / 1) (#35)
by Vladinator on Fri Mar 23, 2001 at 11:22:51 AM EST

I didn't say "A Large Number". See comments in this very article by Zerum and Zero Whitefur who dismiss my site and the people who post there on classic classist bullshit lines.
