The military has demonstrated that it is indeed possible to hack in to computer-controlled vehicles, including tanks, ships, etc. Ya gotta love this quote...

"The problem for the enemy is that computer security vulnerabilities will almost certainly prove fleeting and unpredictable," said Pike, adding that such tactics would be nearly impossible to employ beyond the random harassment level."

I'm going to wager that the story keeps getting dumped because it is a steaming pile of badly formatted fool-meme.

The chances of this really being useful are nil. Why?

Let's see:
While DoS attacks are the most probably, encryption and proper programming (the military favours Ada in this respect, as it enforces some good habits) will lead to few problems... Especially if the communication methods are point to point (like laser), vs. general broadcast (like radio)..

In reality, the type of crime and its objective is limited only by people's

What human endeavor does it not apply to?
<p>
Heck, my personal teleporting is limited only by my imagination and ability.
Those limits are pretty stringent, considering my personal teleportation
ability is zero, but those are the only limits.

I could hack in a tank. There would need to be a computer with a text editor
(and preferably a compiler) in it though.
