News

Details are sketchy as all of this is being pulled out of my recollections of the past week. It seems that Rusty somehow convinced the DNS hosting to release the hold they had on it, and set a DO NOT TRANSFER order on it as well.

What does this mean? For one, it means that you can remove the entry from your hosts file if you put one in there.

In other news, colossal faggot and perpetual failfuck Jason Palowski has been removed from Kuro5hin yet again. Will he ever learn his lesson? The handy Magick Eight BallTM I have here sez: "ALL SIGNS POINT TO NO".

Although a bit low on details.

I'd add that the site went down around 18th Oct. for reasons which related to the administration of the domain, and it took a while to bring it back up because of various human factors.

The new configuration of the domain makes this particular fault unlikely to occur again.

Also, in the interim, apparently Riddick paid for an extra year for the domain.

So there's that.

I guess others can add more details in comments as well.

distracted Rusty's attention to NIWS' plight. But which plumber we MUST call to fix our health-dr.-who-cares?

Well I wanted to help out (3.00 / 3) (#4)
by Riddick on Thu Oct 24, 2013 at 03:01:25 PM EST

I figured if they got one more year for kuro5hin.org at Joker.com that maybe they'd help Rusty out. Apparently it worked and I told Rusty to talk to a manager to get his email contact updated and apparently that worked as well.

I even bought an ad, but for some reason it did not go through.

Oh by the way Kuro5hin died before in 2000 IIRC. Way before that Husi Sissy Rebellion.

MOAR speculation (2.66 / 3) (#6)

There does seem to be more to this story than meets the eye. According to this it looks like Jason had planned on pointing K5's DNS entry at 4thelulz.org. So it looks like there could be criminal fraud involved in this sordid tale as well.

THE MIND SIMPLY REELS.
