Sandra Fluke Is A Fucking Slut

By LilDebbie in Science

Tags: (all tags)

Recently, Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke testified before Congress that, "without insurance coverage, contraception can cost a woman over $3,000 during law school."

In response, American patriot Rush Limbaugh called her a "slut" on his nationally syndicated radio program. Internet White Knight and Nobel Laureate Barack Hussein Obama called Ms. Fluke to express his support for her right to free shit. While both sides of this he-said-she-testified debate are warming up for a grand ol' culture war, lets take a moment to objectively assess her statements and let the data speak to how much this aging co-ed loves the cock.

In America, a juris doctor degree requires three (3) years of law school, so we may conclude Ms. Fluke spends $1000 a year on contraceptives. Let us assume Ms. Fluke's clear concern for women's health leads her to practice safe sex and thus employs condoms in conjunction with The Pill.

According to the eugenicists at Planned Parenthood, oral contraceptives cost at most $50 a month and may require a one time examination costing at most $250. This gives us:

$250 + $50 per month x 12 months per year x 3 years per juris doctor = $2050
According to the fine folks at the Condom Depot, one can expect to spend less than a dollar per condom, but for the sake of easier math we'll call it $1 per condom. This leaves us with:
$3000 per juris doctor - $2050 for birth control pills = $950 for condoms

$950 per juris doctor / $1 per condom = 950 condoms per juris doctor

950 condoms / ( 3 years per juris doctor x 52 weeks per year ) = just over 6 condoms per week

Finally we turn to the fags down at The Kinsey Institue to learn that single women in the 25-29 year old demographic (assuming Ms. Fluke wasn't an old hag when she started law school) who have vaginal intercourse four (4) or more times a week represent a scant 10.1% of the population.

Ms. Fluke is somewhere above the 90th percentile when it comes to having sex. Thus, science proves unequivocally that Sandra Fluke LOVES the cock.

That's why she needs so much contraception.  It's not society's fault that law students are so tight-assed.

Alternatively, a first trimester abortion costs $300. But, if you time it right, you only need 4 per year.

So, with her "buy-3-get-1-free" abortion card, it only costs her $2,700 for contraception.

We noticed that too (none / 1) (#66)
by localroger on Sun Mar 04, 2012 at 09:34:39 AM EST

My wife is going through menopause now, but when she was taking the Pill it was $40/mo plus the biannual checkup fees to get the prescription.

In the mid 90's we made our first trip to Mexico, and they had just passed the law permitting you to bring back a three-month supply of any drug (thanks to the AIDS activists), so while there we planned to visit the farmacia and get three months worth of her pill. We were shocked to find that her pill, which was OTC in the sleepy village of Cardel, was about USD$2.50 per monthly pack. Exact same product from same manufacturer, same logo and color scheme on the box, except for the words being Spanish instead of English.

We left that little drugstore with steam coming out of her ears, and about half way across the town square she stopped and screamed, "THOSE FUCKERS HAVE BEEN RIPPING ME OFF MY ENTIRE LIFE!"

So yeah, our sympathies are with Ms. Fluke. I hope Rush ends up buying her a yacht over the civil tort.

That's a very interesting alternate reality you live in, fella.

Libel cases are very hard to bring about and hard to win in the US. Malpractice cases are very easy to bring about and easy enough to win that ambulance chasers take them on contingency.

Show me a lawyer -- ANY lawyer anywhere -- who makes a living doing filing libel cases on contingency, and I'll accept your equivalence.

They may take place in the same courthouse but there are vast differences in the sets of law, and Forbes would be the first to tell you you're being ridiculous equating the two.

I feel so terrible for Ms Fluke. All the young men at her University now know that Ms Fluke is 'easy' and I'm sure she will be unable to complete her studies with all the wolves who will be shadowing her door.

In addition, what young man would even consider such damaged goods as suitable for marriage?

Terrible also for her parents who in sending their daughter off to school no doubt hoping she would find a suitable young man will now be forced to bring her home in disgrace.

The more I consider how out of character Rush's non apology apology was, I'd say it hasato have been extracted from him under duress by his own lawyers. That suggests that they too disagree with you -- and I'm sure Rush can afford top legal talent.

Over at the orange site there was a comment by someone who claimed to be an actual First Amendment lawyer. He pretty much made the points, in this order:

  1. Mounting a libel case is hell because they can ask you anything under oath in discovery and use it against you
  2. Whether Fluke is a public figure is a murky area under law
  3. This is one of the few libel cases he'd be willing to mount, if the client was willing
  4. This is one of the few libel cases he'd refuse to defend.
Of course on the internet anyone could be a dog, but that dude sounds like he knows what he's talking about -- unlike you.

I seriously doubt Rush is bothered by the advertiser exodus; it's not the first time and he's never backed down before.

As for "a lawyer in defense of another lawyer," I don't know what the hell you're talking about. The self-professed FA lawyer (it's a field, look it up, it means he makes a living mostly defending against libel and slander torts) was not "in defense of another lawyer." He was explaining the merits of a hypothetical suit that might be brought, however little you like them, under current US law and case law.

by redelm on Sat Mar 10, 2012 at 10:08:19 AM EST

This might be a correct numerical analysis, but what makes you believe it applies to Ms Fluke personally? In a very lawyerly way, she testified "a woman can spend $3000", not that she did or would. Us numerates might miss the clintonesque nuance, but literates on Mr Limbaugh's staff would not.

I can only assume Rush chose a punchy "Sandra is a slut", slandering her rather than make the weaker, but correct statement "Sandra defends legal sluts" or "Sandra thinks women are sluts" or "Sandra wants Congress to pay sluts".

He wanted publicity, and got it.

It's incorrect (none / 0) (#110)
by localroger on Sat Mar 10, 2012 at 03:50:02 PM EST

That $250 checkup to get the prescription is not one-time; most doctors require it biannually, and at least once a year there may also be a lab charge for a pap smear. So $50 x 36 = $1800 for the prescription, plus $250 x 6 = $1500 for gatekeeping doctors. Which adds up to $3,300, which is over $3,000 as Ms. Fluke testified.

by redelm on Sat Mar 10, 2012 at 10:14:56 PM EST

Well, all the docs I've seen only insist on one full annual checkup, any in between visits are considerably less. Besides, now you are attributing all her health care "well-woman" costs to contraception, which brings in Mark Twain [subj:] . A case could be made she would be doing all these visits and the PAP smear anyways, so the marginal cost of doc visits attributable to contraception is zero.

If it takes an affectionate situation for you to learn about and be considerate of others, you are a stubborn blockhead and not likely to get any :) Besides, women learn just as much from men.

Sure, a case could be made (none / 1) (#113)
by localroger on Sun Mar 11, 2012 at 09:39:12 AM EST

...and it would be wrong. My wife had to pay for biannual checkups for 20 years as a condition of getting her prescription refilled. If you don't need contraception you can balance the risk of not getting the other care against other needs like food and rent; if you want the contraception you don't get that choice. Fluke was testifying about college students, who are very likely to be on tight budgets.

The bottom line is that Debs is an idiot and his troll has fail written all over it.

Fluke was testifying precisely because Georgetown's mandatory health coverage (if they want to opt out, they have to show they have other equivalent coverage which would be much more expensive without the group rate) doesn't cover contraception because it's a Catholic university.

So why talk of Georgetown? It can be a Catholic university, but if it forces doctrine upon its students, it must not receive any public money. If it does, then it must abide by the rules the paymaster itself must follow -- no establishment of religion.

And what is it doing teaching law? Isn't that the province of the other fellow down below :)

The whole debate s#x -- cherry picking isn't insurance, it is profiteering. This one is the opposite -- if they refuse to cover contraception, then they are increasing the number of live births to insured women. Contraception is cheaper than births, at least in the US. That is increasing costs for everyone. That gets back to how Catholic Georgetown is, and if it really is, why worry -- no one will use contraception, even if it is free.
